I decided to leave blogger and start a new project called Beri Zahara. I'm starting from scratch, so I hope that whoever reads this will click on the link and follow the new site. I'm really excited about this, because I really needed a fresh new start.

Calling All Instagrammers!
I love instagram! I'm a total addict and I just love that you can follow a lot of celebrities and have a peek of their real lives. Personally, I like to share pictures of myself, food and nails. I try hard not to put too many pics of my daughter online, because she can't make that decision yet and lord knows if my mom put baby/childhood pics online of me I would be so embarrassed!!!
Here's my instagram profile :) (@christina_lckrt)

My Baby is Not Really A Baby Anymore
Evelyn turned 1 and she is now walking on her own. I'm so proud and so happy that she took that step. It is hard to believe that a year has gone by so fast, which only emphasizes the fact that I'm getting old(er). She is so smart and that is exactly why I need to be very careful with my choice of words and actions. She copies everything she sees and her learning curve at the moment is so exponential and drastic, it blows my mind. She is quite timid, pensive and generous. Those would be the three best words to describe her. It is such a fascinating process to watch and I really hope for all of my friends that they get to experience this with their own child. It has been physically draining, because of the lack of sleep. It has been an emotional roller coaster ride, because their frame of reference is so small that it's either silence or an alarming high pitched cry several times a day (and night!). I just stopped breastfeeding, so finally I feel like my body is mine all mine again and also I see her becoming more independent and more adventurous as a child should be.
I can't wait to see and follow her growth. It is absolutely astonishing.

What Should I do with My Life?
Becoming a mother has been a hard and very rewarding process. It has given me so much more than I had ever imagined. It has brought my past to life, both good and bad, because I want to pass on whatever experience I have gained, but do not want to repeat all the mistakes my parents made. However, going through pregnancy, giving birth and raising a human being cannot be added on a resume, so when the time comes and I need to search for a job, there will be a big gap from 2013-2015. Right now, I am a stay-at-home mom and it is the hardest job I have ever had, but the most fulfilling. I have the responsibility to raise a person to become a good, intelligent and caring individual. If I make a mistake, I can never undo it.
So for the past few weeks I have been up at night thinking about the future and MY life. What do i want to do with my life?? Before my daughter, I was spontaneous, adventurous and very carefree. In many ways, I still am, but there are obviously limitations to that now.
I have done odd jobs, performed on stages, talked to huge crowds and traveled a lot! (besides having two degrees) but now I want to focus my energy on something I can be passionate about while being a mother. Something I can call "my calling". I googled for a bit and if you are in a similar situation, you might find these links helpful.

And please send me links or any advise you might have. I would really appreciate that. Thank you for listening.

Two Weeks of Beautiful Seattle
My husband and I decided a few months back that we needed two weeks of vacation. We love spending time in North America, so much that we have even talked about moving there! That is if the opportunity arises.
We have some really nice friends in Seattle that we haven't seen in a while, and they said that we could stay with them while we're there. So we bought the tickets. However!!! When I looked at the tickets a week before the trip, I noticed (mind you we're traveling with a 1 year-old) A. First flight was 8 1/2 hours and the next one was 5 1/2 hours!
B. the layover in Newark (worst airport ever) was only 1 1/2 hours! We had to wait to get through customs, claim our luggage + stroller, re-check our luggage + stroller, get to the other terminal, go through security, where they took EVERYTHING out of the hand luggage because of the baby food. run to the other end of the terminal to get to the gate. They had already closed the door to gate and the woman at the counter was so rude and couldn't even believe it. But luckily they let us on the plane - panting and sweating - and we made it. My advise is never book a plane with a layover in the US less than 2 hours.
When we finally arrived in Seattle, we had the best trip, the weather was great and the food was AMAZING!
